Hopefully, you guys will consider this some 'excellent' news. Bill & Ted 3 is officially still rocking, although it's going to take some time before they arrive.

What? You didn't know they were planning to make a third Bill and Ted? Well they are, and yes, and will be starring. Galaxy Quest director has been brought on board to return Bill S. Preston, Esq and Ted Logan to the big screen.

Bill and Ted 3 has been around for sometime, but in the absence of any news, we kind of assumed it had died somewhere along the line. Presumably when someone mentioned Reeves and Winters aren't 17 anymore. Amazingly however, it still lives. Winter's caught up with /Film to explain what's going on:

Well the funny thing is there really isn't a hold up. Nothing held it up other than it got leaked really early in the process, so these things take a shitload of time to get bobbed around and we are really just in the process. It’s really mundane to report the day-to-day process of trying to get a movie made. "Right now they’re doing a rewrite?" You know? That's my news, "they are doing a rewrite." That will take a while and then we will look at it and that might need another rewrite and that will be my next bit of news. So it's just like... The short answer is it got leaked way too early. It got leaked just as we started, me and Keanu and Chris and Ed, the two writers just started to put it together. Then you've got the whole genesis of putting it together in front of you still, which is where we are at now.

That sounds good, but I'm still not entirely sure how this will all work out. I mean, Bill and Ted was the adventures of a couple of brain-dead teenage rockstar wannabees. To see them suddenly transformed into 40-something year old guys with mortgages and bad backs might be a bit jarring. Plus, Keanu Reeves has now firmly established himself as the most stone-faced actor in Hollywood history. To see him bellow "Excellent!" and play the air guitar now will just be incredibly awkward for everyone involved...

Are you just glad Bill and Ted are still coming back? Let us know below.
