Walter White and crew returned with a bang for the Season 6 premiere of Breaking Bad on Sunday night. The premiere episode netted an impressive 5.9 million viewers for AMC, an historic series high. The number of viewers doubled from last season's premiere, promising that fans are on board for the final 8-episode season of the -driven drama.

The Breaking Bad premiere drew in 3.3 million viewers ages 25-54 and 3.6 million viewers ages 18-49, second in all of cable only to AMC's other massive hit, The Walking Dead.

Riding on the coattails of Breaking Bad was the pilot episode of Low Winter Sun, which debuted directly after and drew 2.5 million viewers, a respectable number, but less than half what the Breaking Bad premiere drew. leads the AMC drama which follows detective Frank Agnew as he gets drawn into a net of murder, corruption, and revenge after killing a fellow cop.

AMC's third premiere of the night, Talking Bad, which is to Breaking Bad what Talking Dead is to The Walking Dead, drew in 1.2 million viewers.

The next episode of Breaking Bad airs Sunday, August 18th with the second episode of Low Winter Sun immediately following it.
