's mother, Sharon Murphy, recently wrote a piece for The Hollywood Reporter that refutes claims that she was poisoned. Murphy's biological father, Angelo Bertolotti, made headlines last week when he suggested that she might have been poisoned because her hair samples contained traces of heavy metals. Specifically, the toxicology report said she was probably "poisoned by a third party perpetrator with likely criminal intent."
Murphy claims in the highly charged letter that Bertolotti is merely exploiting the death of her daughter, someone whose life he was never really a part of to begin with. "His claims are based on the most flimsy of evidence and are more of an insult than an insight into what really happened," she wrote. "I am sorry to be so forthright in saying this, but the time has come to bring out into the open the lies Angelo and Davis have told now that Brittany can't defend herself. They did it simply to promote their interests, their book, Davis' documentary and career. The time has come for their false statements to be exposed and rebuked."
Murphy also points out in her letter - something that's been echoed since the release of Bertolotti's claims - that hairspray, the occasional cigarette, and hair dyes could account for traces of heavy metals. Still, it's completely bizarre that Murphy was sleeping in the same bed as Brittany's deceased husband after her death. Everything about this is messed up.
