We are an extremely spoiled lot, we fans. Over the years, he's created instant and cult classics, enduring characters of pop culture, and the third highest-grossing film of all time, at least until recently-retitled The Avengers: Age Of Ultron hits theaters in 2015. Everything he touches, for the most part, instantly turns to gold, or becomes gold with the nostalgia of time. We really have no reason to demand more of him, and yet, we do, because the one thing we demand more fervently than anything is the one thing we can't have: More Firefly.

And even though Whedon has gone on record as saying he loves fan enthusiasm, but it has a snowball's chance in Hell of happening, and seriously, stop bringing it up, the idea of Serenity and her crew once again being resurrected is the hope that will never die, which, I suppose, is a fairly fitting tribute to the little show that could.

But not all is despair, as it was just announced that we are getting more's just in game form. That's right, Firefly Online is set to launch next summer, and judging from the trailer, it looks pretty great:

Ugh, just hearing that music gave me chills. The game is a multi-user, social online RPG, which is great. The only drawback is that it will only initially be available for phones and tablets, though it will be playable by both iOS and Android systems. My guess it that they'll wait to see how many people sign up and show interest before rolling out a PC version.
