Capcom's gruesome bloody pool promotion for its latest Resident Evil game, Resident Evil: Revelations has been cancelled in the wake of the shocking beheading attack on Lee Rigby in Woolwich, London last week. The pool was to be presented by Capcom UK, near London's Olympic Stadium

According to Bloody Disgusting, the pool was going to be 55,000 gallons worth of fake blood and severed body parts that featured game-related merchandise at the bottom. Swimmers were invited to dive to the bottom to take their pick of merch.

This is definitely a good move on Capcom's part. The promotion was already pretty bizarre to begin with, even if it was fitting for Resident Evil games.
