As we prepare for the arrival of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Marvel Studio's second cinematic outing with the character, the director of 2011's Captain America: The First Avenger is prepping to dive into his next project.

According to THR, is in talks to direct Extinction for Good Universe, the company that also produced the Oldboy remake. Plot details are being kept close to the vest, but purportedly the story will follow a man who is trying to save his family amid an alien invasion.

I like Johnston a lot. Not only did he give us the The First Avenger, but he's also the man behind the big screen version of The Rocketeer. Sure, he's had some misfires (Jurassic Park III and The Wolfman, though the latter wasn't really his fault), but I'm really looking forward to what he does next. Of course, it would be a little easier to judge the situation if we had a few more plot details.

What do you guys think?
