When you think of comic books, politics isn't necessarily the first thing to come to mind. Once you look beyond the bombastic costumes and incredible super powers, however, it doesn't take long to find comic book tales which have a strong political undercurrent; for example, Marvel's Civil War storyline or the recent news President Nixon would appear in X-Men: Days Of Future Past.

It looks like Captain America hasn't escaped politicization either, in a recent chat with Variety, Marvel boss Kevin Feige revealed that Captain America: The Winter Soldier would be quite different from the first:

Our first Captain America film was a World War II picture, and the next is a political thriller. They all have their own textures and patinas, and that's what is exciting about it.

He also went on to confront accusations that the recent craze for superhero movies was only a passing fad, claiming:

If it is a fad, it's one that lasts 30 to 40 years, as the Western did, because each one is so different. There's an opportunity to graft almost sub-genres onto them.
