A brilliant film for restless found footage fans, Capture Kill Release maximizes the potential of what can really be done with a limited budget and minimal cast. Truly a horrific and tragic love story, #CaptureKillRelease is as surprising as it is entertainingly grotesque and sweet. Based on a loving couple who set out to fulfill the morbid desires that are manifesting cancerously within themselves, the ending to this flick will leave your stomach, heart and jaw lying on the floor. It's truly an impressive film from directors Nick McAnulty and Brian Allan Stewart loaded with a rousing chemistry between the film’s stars Farhang Ghajar and Jennifer Fraser, this #indiehorror is surely one you don’t want to miss.

Tall, attentive and naive Farhang (Farhang Ghajar), and his adorably bubbly wife Jennifer (Jennifer Fraser), are seemingly the ideal young married couple. They have a cute home, an equal team dynamic, undeniable chemistry and, of course, an unwavering desire to produce their first snuff film together. As Farhang and Jennifer practice executing their roles and preparations perfectly, Jennifer begins to obsess over the upcoming prospect of murder. Desperate to keep his deliciously cunning wife under control, Farhang begins having second thoughts about the liberties he and his wife are coursing as her impulses continue to unravel out of control. As Murphy’s Law has continuously proven throughout history — and horror movies — you can’t plan for everything, and if something could go wrong, it probably will.
Somehow managing to be both ominous and stupendously upbeat, Capture Kill Release is a slow-burning #horror feature that is more likely to captivate viewers than shock them. If you are looking for a non-stop ride of action, special effects and plot twists, then this probably not the film to satisfy those cravings, but that shouldn't distinguish this charismatic #foundfootage as anything less than the great indie film it is. The most common complaints or negative reviews I have read — before and after my first viewing — seem to be in the nature of not knowing what to expect going into this badass horror flick. Don’t let what you want or expect ruin the unique allure of this film. In other words — don’t be so damned judgey!
As I have many times before, I ignored popular reviews and ratings of Capture Kill Release knowing damn well I have less than conventional taste in movies. Where some reviews I read said the movie was too slow or “flopped,” I could only find myself sitting in confusion at the film's conclusion as my insanely picky-ass was left in awe. I truly enjoyed the slower build towards the film's conclusion. For me, it added a wonderful realism that reflects my love for the found footage genre as a whole and it sincerely felt like I was watching someone’s home movies.
The realism of Capture Kill Release was only accentuated by the rousing magnetism of both Ghajar and Fraser’s knockout performances. Not only were both actors understated but they were rousingly talented as well. I tend to hate sex scenes in movies because they are so grossly fake and incorporate those horrible, wet sloshing noises that sound more like a VD exchange than they do an orgasm and it makes me gag. Blood and guts are great — sexual secretions and stringy saliva close-ups are not. This was far from the case with Capture Kill Release. In short: The acting was fucking superb.
Exceptional writing, delivery and execution — if you're in the need for a sexy horror flick with an ending that will leave you speechless then I suggest you cuddle up to Capture Kill Release this evening. Available now, you can get your bloody little paws on this title at either iTunes, Vudu, Xbox or you can rent, own or buy a copy here on Amazon.
