For almost a decade, Sex and the City's Carrie Bradshaw ruled the streets of New York with her cutting-edge fashion statements, thoughtful weekly columns and on-again off-again relationship with a certain Mr. Big. While the iconic '90s TV show has been off the air for several years now, it's still a cultural phenomenon that has spawned two movies (possibly three), countless parodies and legions of devoted fans. One such kween paying homage to Carrie's legacy is Instagram star Dan Clay, a.k.a. Carrie Dragshaw.
Clay, or Dragshaw, had formally used his Insta to flaunt his life in NYC and rock-solid abs — but lately things have taken a turn for the Bradshaw. In the unveiling of his new persona a month ago, Clay admitted that he always wanted to be #CarrieBradshaw for Halloween, and that:
"...girls would come over and watch 'Sex and the City' on Sundays and I would pretend that I hated it because I didn't want to give myself away. Well, the secret's out, and this is the happiest day of my life."
Unsurprisingly, Clay's follower count rocketed from 900 to over 15,000, and not only has he perfected Carrie's famous fashion statements, he has also adopted her voice, creating pearls of wisdom that Bradshaw herself would be proud of:
As I thought back on another night at the Standard, I couldn't help but wonder: is Halloween really any different than a night out in New York? Before we leave the house, we all put on our masks--some to make us look prettier, or stronger, or sexier, or even scarier, harder to reach. But are these masks really disguises--or dreams? And how far are we willing to go to prevent people from seeing who we really are?
In a recent interview with Cosmo, the 32-year-old claimed that he doesn't intend to give up his "Miranda-type" day-job to pursue Dragshaw full time, rather planning to take things "one heel at a time." On how he comes up with his own spot-on Carrie-isms, Clay said:
"I'm watching 'Sex and the City' the way people read James Joyce. I'm analyzing the sentence structure, like deconstructing how she asks questions."

If that wasn't enough, Dragshaw's New York antics caught the attention of the real Carrie Bradshaw — #SarahJessicaParker — who has fallen head over designer heels for Dragshaw as much as we have.
Yeah, we'd be dead too. For those that are interested (and why wouldn't you be), Dan is also a stone cold fox both in, and out of the blonde wig, and could totally be a member of the New York glitterati.
Werk! To see more of Carrie Dragshaw's fashion and wisdom, you can follow Dan in his Instagram account — you know it's what Carrie Bradshaw would do.
