It seems like Austrian actor is making all the right career decisions lately, with his most recent turn being that of Dr. King Schultz in Django Unchained.

Now, THR is reporting that Waltz has joined the cast of 's new action thriller, Candy Store. Waltz will be playing a remnant Cold War-era consigliere blending in as a normal American suburbanite, and will be joining a cast that already includes , , and .

The sprawling crime thriller is set in the criminal underbelly of Brooklyn, where a former operative (I assume this will be Clarke) discovers that he can't escape the shadowy, international organization that he fought.

He teams up with a disgraced local cop (DeNiro, who else) to investigate the criminal organization. The pair deal with a situation quickly spiraling out of control and make a number of enemies, including a sex trade operator (Sy), Waltz's aforementioned consigliere, and a beautiful and mysterious girl. The pair discover a plan to detonate a bomb in Manhattan.

Along with being set to direct, Gaghan co-wrote the script with Shannon Burke, and he will also be producing the film alongside Allison Shearmur.

This is an excellent cast with what looks to be a taut and intense storyline, so if you're a fan of gripping thrillers, [[follow]] the movie and we'll keep you up to date.
