The premiere of Netflix's Iron Fist series is right around the corner, with Finn Jones set to play Danny Rand. Canonically, the title of Iron Fist is only bestowed when one has defeated the dragon Shou-Lao the Undying and absorbed part of his life force.

While Danny Rand may be the current and most popular , he isn't the first. In actuality, Iron Fist exists within the Marvel Universe Earth-616 reality, and there have been 66 people to wear that title. Let's take a look at some of them.

1. Wu Ao-Shi

From the very beginning, Wu Ao-Shi was a strong woman. When martial arts trainer Lei-Kung the Thunderer first encountered her, she was defending herself from an undeserved beating. The Thunderer saw something in Wu and made it his mission to train her to be the Iron Fist.

Through all of her training, willful Wu would always do what her heart desired. As a fighter, she was known for focusing her chi through arrows. People would say that to see these arrows looked like fire falling from the sky.

2. Bei Bang-Wen

Most of the Iron Fists used their chi physically, but Bei Bang-Wen was different. Even before he was the Iron Fist, he was one of the smartest people in any room. So, it fits that he would focus and use his power in a cerebral manner to try to figure out his opponent's plan before the battle even started. He meditated and planned in a manner that he referred to as "the Perfect Strategy Mind."

3. Orson Randall

Orson Randall was the man who trained Danny Rand's father to become his successor (his father never completed the training). Randall's story was a weird one. In some plots he was an adventurer. In others he was a man who helped win wars. In his later years, Randall could be found in opium parlors getting high. Despite this, he was not an addict and never lost his edge.

Randall was a man who studied the Iron Fists that came before him, learned all of their techniques, and used them in his training and in battle. Like Wu Ao-Shi, Randall would focus his chi through projectile weapons. Instead of arrows, Randall preferred guns. Before he died, he showed a few of his tricks. Of all of the Iron Fists, Randall seemed to get the most out of his training.

4. Danny Rand: Earth-989192

Danny Rand and Luke Cage started Heroes for Hire, Inc. with the intention of helping people in need. On Earth-616 the two spend a lot of time taking pro bono work. On this Earth, Heroes for Hire employed superheroes like a normal company would workers. The amount a customer paid depended on who the hero was, with the hero receiving a check for services rendered. No one worked for free or for a discount, no matter how dire the situation. The Danny Rand of 616 would help people whether they paid or not.

5. Power Fist: Earth-8545

Your eyes are not deceiving you. That is indeed as the Iron Fist. In this reality the Legacy Virus mutated with Warlock's alien physiology to create a super virus. It infected the world and turned almost every superhuman into zombie-like beings. Luke was among the super people that were not infected. He and a small group (including the Exiles) helped save the world and restore it to its former glory.

6. Danny Rand: Earth-1610

In this universe, Danny Rand is almost the polar opposite to the Danny Rand on Earth-616. He is selfish, willing to kill, has been arrested for using his Iron Fist against the powerless and is willing to sell out his comrades.

Season 1 of Iron First premieres on Netflix on March 17. Who is your favorite Iron Fist? Sound off in the comments below.
