Color me excited! With a 13-episode second series in development, due for a 2014 release date, Hannibal showrunner 's been getting busy, revealing via EW, a horrifying new teaser poster.

It's a rather wonderful feat of promotion - I've never watched the show, but I'll definitely be checking it out in the second season on the strength of the darkly elegant poster. If the visuals are close to this striking on the actual show, it's got to be a winner.

"After a horrifying descent into madness in season one," Fuller tells the magazine, "this image ironically represents the perspective of a scrappier, clearer-minded Will Graham in season two. The scales have fallen from his eyes and he finally sees Hannibal Lecter for the monster he is."

Hannibal centers on Will Graham (), an expert criminal profiler, who works in tandem with Dr Hannibal Lecter (), who is helping with the cases, and is also a serial killer himself.

Hannibal is based on the characters from the novel Red Dragon by Thomas Harris.

What did you think of the first season? Let me know in the comments below.
