I'm a good bowler, and a good man.

New photo's have landed of star-studded Rust Belt drama Out of the Furnace, and whilst they don't tell us THAT much, this film still looks like a doozy.

There's 's Russell looking suitably grizzled, and then a shot of him giving evil-eyes to 's character, a local crime kingpin. I'll just say this: Harrelson doesn't look like somebody I'd want to stare down. In fact, Harrelson's character looks pretty darn poo-your-pants-terrifying.

This film looks like quite an intense, gritty ride, which marks a change for director from his last feature Crazy Heart. was pretty sublime in that one (and got the Oscar to show for it!) but for me, it was a lil' too slow and adhered too much to biopic-convention to really set my heart on fire. I have high hopes here.

Also, with news that Pearl Jam frontman will be contributing an original track for the film, Out of the Furnace gets even more grungy. In fact, it is said their track 'Release', which closed their breakthrough album 'Ten' was inspiration for this film. It's a song about deep familial ties, which makes sense for a film which is about one brother fighting for the justice of another.

Here's a synopsis to check out:

Russell () and his younger brother Rodney () live in the economically-depressed Rust Belt, and have always dreamed of escaping and finding better lives. But when a cruel twist of fate lands Russell in prison, his brother is lured into one of the most violent and ruthless crime rings in the Northeast – a mistake that will almost cost him everything. Once released, Russell must choose between his own freedom, or risk it all to seek justice for his brother.
