Oh god. Is there anything more exciting than giant robots leaping into the air and punching and firing things so that the city they're meant to be protecting seems to half crumble round them to a backdrop of thudding techno?
After watching Pacific Rim's new TV spot and then a clip from the upcoming robot vs monster fight fest, I'd have to say no.

And now a terse clip in which we discover that Idris Elba's character really, really doesn't like it when you touch his sleeve.
The film is opening in 3D, 2D and IMAX theatres on July 12 and stars all your fave faces: , , , and many, many more.
For the uninitiated, a brief synopsis to whet your appetite:
When legions of monsters known as Kaiju start rising from the sea, a war begins that will almost destroy humanity. To fight back, a special weapon is designed: massive robots known as Jaegers which are controlled by two pilots whose 'minds are locked in a neural bridge' (whatever that means…I guess that they're mentally locked together?). Even with the huge robots, humankind is on the verge of defeat and have to turn to two unlikely heroes - a framer pilot, Hunnam and his untested trainee, Kikuchi who team up to drive an obsolete Jaeger from the past. Are they mankind's last hope?
