Chris Evans is one of the most hardworking actors in the entertainment industry. He plays Captain America in the most successful film franchise in the world, and he has numerous other projects lined up for the next few years. Unfortunately, that kind of success also comes at a price, namely having to be away from home and loved ones for months at a time. In his case, he had to stay away from one particularly beloved family member: his dog, Dodger.
The actor has been busy filming #AvengersInfinityWar and its untitled continuation, #Avengers4 for the past year. Fortunately though, he finally had some time off from beating up Thanos and his gang of evil children, and was able to put his indestructible Vibranium shield down to return home. Evans made sure to let fans in on his welcome, specifically the one he received from Dodger.
Captain America Gets An Awesome Welcome From His Dog
But finally, #InfinityWar has wrapped and Evans got to return home. The actor posted his homecoming with his dog on Twitter, and it's an extremely adorable reunion ten weeks in the making. With that in mind, prepare for a cuteness overload:
People have been showing an outpour of love for this adorable video ever since it was posted. Just in case you aren't aware of why there's so much emotion going around for this video, it's because #ChrisEvans' reunion with his dog has been quite an anticipated event.
The actor has spent the past few months sharing his longing for his furry partner with his millions of Twitter followers. Back in July, Evans shared a picture of Dodger "helping" him with work on the computer:
More recently, Evans shared this sweet video of his dog playing around and going crazy with while watching some good ol' '90s movies together:
During an April interview with People, Evans told the story of how he and his dog came together for the first time, while filming this year's #Gifted—and predictably, he gushed:
"One of the last scenes we were filming was in a pound, a kennel. I foolishly walked in and I thought, 'Are these actor dogs or are these real up for adoption dogs?' And sure enough they were, so I was walking up and down the aisles and saw this one dude and he didn't belong there. I snagged him and he's such a good dog. They aged him at about one, he acts like a puppy, he's got the energy of a puppy, he's just such a sweetheart, he's such a good boy. He loves dogs, he loves kids, he's full of love."
Chris Evans' Fellow Chrises Also Have Great Love For Their Dogs
These adorable posts and anecdotes reminded me of the classic tale of three Chrises. People have been comparing Chris Evans, #ChrisHemsworth, #ChrisPratt, and #ChrisPine for a while now. The topic has been quite popular around the internet, to the point where Pine even addressed the issue during his SNL segment this past May. Surprisingly, these heartthrobs have one more similarity than their names and roles in comic book movies: Their love for dogs.
In October of last year, it was revealed that Pine adopted a beautiful pit bull from Home Dog LA. The shelter made sure to share the exciting announcement with a picture of the actor holding his new family member:
As mentioned, #Thor, the God of Thunder himself, is also quite fond of canines, and he has his own to prove it. Last year, Hemsworth shared a hilarious picture of himself locked in an intense stare-off with a furry competitor:
I don't know about you, but these displays of love between the actors and animals makes me admire them even more. Hopefully, Evans is able to spend quite a bit of time with his four-footed companion now that he finally has a well-deserved break from superheroics.
You can see Chris Evans as #CaptainAmerica again when Avengers: Infinity War flies into theaters on May 4, 2018.
