Wonder Woman has managed to captivate audiences all over the world. The movie has saved the sinking ship of the DC Extended Universe after Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad missed the mark last year. With the helping hand from a "wonder woman" in her own right — Patty Jenkins — DC is back up on its feet and giving Marvel a serious run for its money.

, who plays Steve Trevor in this movie, seems to believe that they are already one step ahead of Marvel. In an interview with ScreenSlam, Pine said that Patty Jenkins was the reason that he signed onto the project:

"She, in particular. Patty was a great reason why I wanted to be involved. I met her, I hadn’t read. There was no script. Then she told me what she wanted to do — the story, my character, and Gal’s character."

Pine then went on to add that the Wonder Woman script brought something new to the superhero genre and in doing so he took a shot at Marvel's most ambitious project yet, :

"I, like you, agree that within this genre, it’s difficult to do something new, and usually, you just see a bunch of people killing one another — in outfits and blowing up cities. Like, I know there’s a thing called Infinity War, which is like, I don’t ... really, like, Infinity War? We need more war for all time?"

This, however, isn't the first time that Chris Pine poked a bit of fun at Marvel. He made it clear on Saturday Night Live that he's not Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth or Chris Pratt. They will all star in Avengers: Infinity War, which is set to hit theaters next year. It would be interesting to see what the three of them would have to say about Pine's comments!

Wonder Woman is in theaters now.
