It's been an imaginably difficult time for Chris Pratt and Anna Faris in the days following their announcement that they are splitting up. There's no denying that the pair's split has been though to deal with, especially if you've been a long-time admirer of the couple. Both actors have been keeping a low profile for the past few days, but when Pratt showed up to the 2017 Teen Choice Awards, he got to reconnect with his fans.
The #GuardiansOfTheGalaxy star not only made his first public appearance since the split announcement, but he also went on stage at the #TeenChoiceAwards to receive his surfboard for Choice Movie Actor: Sci-Fi. Sadly, he reminded us all that he was in break-up mode with Faris when it was clear he was not wearing his wedding band (insert all sad-faced emojis here.)
The actor delighted the audience with his signature humor through his acceptance speech, firing off off a fun anecdote about how he got his start in the entertainment industry (which, coincidentally, fit in with his newly-acquired TCA surfboard):
"When I came to Los Angeles, I came from Hawaii and I had all of this blonde hair and I was tan and I met an agent because I really wanted to be an actor and get an agent and he said, 'Wow. Bro you must surf?' And I said 'Yeah' and that was the first of many lies I told to get where I am today.
Our hearts were torn in half early this month when Faris and Pratt –– one of the most adorable and widely-adored Hollywood couples –– announced they were splitting up after eight years of marriage:
"We are sad to announce we are legally separating. We tried hard for a long time, and we’re really disappointed. Our son has two parents who love him very much and for his sake we want to keep this situation as private as possible moving forward. We still have love for each other, will always cherish our time together and continue to have the deepest respect for one another."
However, we have to look on the bright side of the situation. Both Faris and Pratt are still united when it comes to making willing to make their relationship work for the sake of their son, which is not always the case in divorces.
Hopefully everything goes great for them moving forward.
