After 's Evil Dead remake killed it critically and commercially at the box office, it made me think a lot about what a Hellraiser Reboot could actually accomplish. Unfortunately, we've had the same hellbound song and dance for years. There's long been talk that Pinhead and the Cenobites would make a return to the big screen, minus the creative force behind the franchise: . But then, a Halloween miracle happened. Barker confirmed that Bob Weinstein at Dimension invited him to write a script based on a new pitch. He wrote on his Facebook page that , who portrayed the iconic Pinhead, would be back, along with practical effects.

The latest bit of news to pop up is less surprising than The Walking Dead being renewed for a fifth season. But hey, it's something. Barker confirmed on his Facebook that the movie will be rated-R:

"Somebody else asked why I'm not writing something original," says Barker. "The answer is that I am. After Hellraiser I intend to write and direct a completely new horror movie, which will mingle graphic horror and erotic content, to create an unrated film which will push the envelope of extreme content further than ever..."

Duh! I don't think there's any other way this story could happen. A PG-13 Hellraiser would be more dangerous than opening the Cenobites' puzzle box. Hell hath no fury like a fanboy scorned. If you've never seen Hellraiser, stop what you're doing. It's on YouTube, which I've happily embedded for you here:
