will star in Three to Kill which vaguely sounds like a mix between Hitchcock’s The Man Who Saw Too Much and a tough hitman thriller à la Collateral.

According to Deadline the Academy Award winner will play a businessman who witnesses a murder while sojourning in France. He subsequently has to go on the run from two relentless, sociopathic hitmen whom he saw committing the crime.

The thriller is based on the novel of the same name by French crime author Jean-Patrick Marchette. One of Marchette’s other novels, The Prone Gunman, is currently also turned into a movie starring , and .

Directing Three to Kill is who has ample experience making hard, no-nonsense thrillers, counting The Way of the Gun and Jack Reacher on his résumé.
