Ever since production began for the film adaptation of Ender's Game, there's been a considerable amount of controversy surrounding it due to the author's remarks on gay marriage. He's made it very clear before that he has a specific viewpoint against gay marriage, and thanks to that there has been a number of people refusing to even give the movie a try because of his words.
appeared in front of the press to talk about Ender's Game and was eventually posed with a question pertaining to Card's statements. He displayed what a truly strong and open-minded person he is with his answer:
"I think none of Mr. Card's concerns regarding the issues of gay marriage are part of the thematics of this film. He has written something I think that is of value to us all to consider moral responsibilities. His views outside of those that we deal with in this film are not an issue for me to deal with and so I have really no opinion on that issue. I am aware of his statements admitting that the question of gay marriage is a battle that he lost and he admits that he lost it. I think we all know that we've all won, that humanity has won and I think that's the end of the story."
The room filled with journalists broke out into an applause seconds after he gave his answer. Mr. Ford you truly are one of the coolest veteran actors out there.
