Spoiler Warning: If you don't like knowing about new Game Of Thrones characters before you meet them on screen, this article about Conor McGregor's new character is probably not for you.

Earlier this week, we learned that UFC champion would be joining the cast of Game of Thrones for Season 7. Fans speculated he could potentially play an opponent to the Mountain, and, while that's still not out of the question, we've just learned a few more specifics about McGregor's new role.

According to Watchers on the Wall, McGregor is a crew member on board Euron Greyjoy's ship, the Silence. You might remember from Season 6 that the Silence is so-named because Euron personally slices out the tongues of his crew. Of course, it's possible that McGregor could be one of the lucky one or two that gets to keep his tongue in his head, in order to plan and discuss with Euron. What a privilege that would be.

Whether McGregor's character gets to keep his tongue or not (and it doesn't seem very likely), everyone is thrilled to have him on board. UFC president Dana White told Fox Sports Live:

"I did hear that [McGregor would join 'Game Of Thrones']. I knew a few months ago that they were interested in putting him in the show. I’m glad he did it. It will be great. The show is huge. It’s awesome, and I’m excited for him."

What do you think about McGregor playing a crew member on the Silence?
