Former child-star and current baffling musician Corey Feldman has proposed to his girlfriend of four years after the couple developed fears that Donald Trumps vicious anti-immigration sentiments could lead to his Canadian belle being deported.
Feldman admitted that he was apprehensive about proposing to 27-year-old Courtney Anne, who also supports his music career as one of his 'angels,' but he managed to get over his nerves in a typically off-the-wall way:
“I was of course a bit nervous, as any man will admit, you never truly know what a woman is thinking. So as much as I assumed she would be happy and say ‘yes,’ there’s always that insecure part of my brain that regresses immediately to my childhood and thought maybe not. So I kinda chickened out and did a written proposal by writing a note with two check boxes, one for yes and the other for no,” he continued. “Of course there was a ring in there with the note. Luckily she said ‘yes!’ “
Although Courtney was blown away by the unexpected request, she said yes, as you can see from the beautifully ticked box above. Hopefully she also said it verbally too. Corey told interviewers that:
"She was very surprised, excited and started crying. She was surprised because we had both been so anti-marriage since we met. But seeing as she’s Canadian and with [Donald] Trump coming in, we didn’t want to risk being separated by new immigration laws."

Although Feldman might be well known for his larger-than-life showman persona that he has recently showcased in songs such as "Go 4 It" and "Take a Stand," the star insists he will have a very modest wedding to try and beat any new immigration rules:
"We are planning a small, secret wedding just for family, very soon. We will likely have a big public wedding for friends and media to attend within a year.”
But if the pitter-patter of little Feldmans is already running through your mind, I'm afraid I'm going to have to disappoint you. Corey explained that neither he or Courtney are ready to give the 45-year-old star's son, 12-year-old Zen, a little brother or sister just yet:
"I have always said I wanna make sure I get it right the first time, and [that] Zen comes out perfectly, well balanced, before I even think about taking on any more responsibility. Courtney is young and she has a career in modeling and music, she would rather keep her body in good shape for now. She’s getting good practice with Zen. If we ever were to choose that option it would be much further down the road. Paul McCartney style.”
While getting married for visa reasons isn't exactly the most romantic thing in the world, congratulations to the happy couple. As Corey would say, "Go 4 It."
