Ever since Supergirl officially joined the CW, fans have been practically begging for a musical crossover between her and #Flash. Well, it's happening folks! A date and a title have both been finalized and the Big Bad, Music Meister, has also been cast!
The musical wonder Darren Criss, best known for his roles in Glee and A Very Potter Musical, will be playing the part and singing it out against everyone's favorite superheroes. Having previously starred in Glee with Darren, both The Flash and Supergirl stars #GrantGustin and #MelissaBenoist have proven their vocal talents countless times. Here's a small taste of what we could see:
Music Meister Was Mentioned In A Previous Episode
Fangirling aside, could it be possible that The Flash directors have given us our first taste of Music Meister in a brief mention in the last episode? Think back (or is it forward?) to when Cisco and Barry vibe to the future, to that heartbreaking moment when #Savitar murders Iris West right in front of Barry (as if he hasn't seen enough people he loves die in front of him).
Anyway, the metahumans turn their attention to a conveniently placed display television, which just happens to be showing the news. Some of the headlines that caught there attention were:
- Plunder is caught by the Flash
- Music Meister gets six-figure book deal
- Luigi's opens after murder
- Joe West honored at city hall
- Killer Frost still at large
- Star Labs museum closes
- City still recovering after gorilla attack
While some of us were still reeling after hearing of Killer Frost's return, as well as the secret meaning behind the mysterious gorilla attack that shook Central City, it's quite understandable that one might have missed Music Meister's brief mention. It would seem that in the future Barry is trying to avoid, Music Meister receives a six-figure book deal, which we should find rather peculiar. After all, would anyone give such a large sum for a book written by a known villain?
Was The Flash The Cause?
What if Music Meister in the current future wasn't a villain? Barry and co. are trying to change the future by changing the headlines they read that night, so what if one of those changes included stopping Music Meister from signing his book deal? That could potentially turn him onto a different path, particularly if it meant losing that much money.
What if he was also a metahuman whose power was still dormant? Could our favorite Scarlet Speedster cause the birth of this anticipated villain? Well, it wouldn't be the first time Barry accidentally created a bad guy.
You'd think after so many journeys through time (and after the whole #Flashpoint incident), the Flash would be more weary about altering the timeline. However, could it be that Barry Allen — in his attempt to save his beloved Iris — causes the creation of this amazing villain? Could this be another crack in the timeline our speedster has created? Who knows? Sadly, this is only a theory and we still have a while until the episode airs. Until then, we can only wait and see how things will ultimately unfold.
The musical crossover, "Duet" will be hitting the small screen March 21.
