Dacre Montgomery may not be a household name as of yet, but the 22-year-old Australian actor is coming off of the biggest week of his career with the premiere of his first big-budget movie: . (Yeah, you may have heard about it.)

Montgomery plays Jason, better known as the Red Ranger — but soon, you'll also know him as a regular character in Season 2 of Netflix's hit series Stranger Things. And it's all thanks to him dancing around in a G-string.

Since the announcement of Stranger Things' renewal for Season 2, few details have been revealed since the show's creators are taking Game of Thrones-style precautions to keep spoilers from leaking. At one point, however, there were rumors circulating about new characters being introduced — and when Montgomery heard from his manager that the show was looking for someone to play an "18-year-old bad boy," he knew he had to audition.

What became of that audition is a whole different story. When people say give it your all, Montgomery really gave it his all — dancing naked save for a G-string and a leather jacket.

Along with a few buddies, Montgomery made a short film where he did his best Magic Mike impression, dancing nearly in the buff to '80s music. If he needed a way to stand out, he definitely found it, although he was worried that the casting producers would think he was crazy. As he told THR:

"I was like, 'I have to nail this.' ... I was so nervous [about] it and wanted it so badly I made like a short film. I had an opening score, opening titles and credits. And I got in like a G-string and danced naked to '80s music with this leather jacket and crazy glasses. That night, Thursday night, I sent it off. I said to my [agents], 'Dudes, this is crazy, literally the industry is going be like who the hell is this guy, or they're going to love it. Hopefully the Duffers can handle this.' I didn't sleep Thursday night, and I got the call Friday morning saying the Duffers want to Skype you on Sunday morning and they want to fly you to L.A. next week for the test deal. I was like, 'Holy shit!'"

Montgomery's method certainly stood out, and fortunately it got him him the role. Less than a month later, he was on the Stranger Things set, filming his part.

"I was shooting Power Rangers and this was the first role that I really wanted, and I hadn't gotten any of the other roles I'd auditioned for or call backs or tests or anything, and I got an offer for this role," he explained to THR.

Montgomery will be playing Billy, an antagonist whom he calls "unpredictable," somewhat based on Jack Nicholson's character in The Shining. His role requires prosthetics, a wild car, earrings and tattoos, a much different look than his Power Rangers appearance — but he seems to be having an amazing time filming down in Atlanta.

See, all you need to do to reach your dreams is dance naked. Well, okay, maybe this was just luck ... and a LOT of time at the gym.

Stranger Things Season 2 premieres October 31st. Power Rangers is in theaters March 24th!
