came out on Christmas Day back in 2015, and while many critics weren't too fond of the comedy, there were a ton of people who loved it. Personally, I thought the movie was a great time and I laughed throughout the entire film.

With a $69 million budget, the movie went on to make $242.8 million at the box office. With that success, we are getting a sequel that fans are hoping is as funny as the original. Now we've got a glimpse of what to expect from the and comedy sequel with the first official trailer.

Mel Gibson Joins Will Ferrell And Mark Wahlberg In First 'Daddy's Home 2' Trailer

First of all, it is nice to see most of the actors from the original movie return for the sequel. This includes Brad (Ferrell) and Dusty (Wahlberg), Brad's wife (Linda Cardellini), John Cena reprising his role as Roger — the father of Dusty’s step-daughter — plus all of the kids. One key character missing from the trailer is Griff (Hannibal Buress), who stole almost every single scene he was in. We can only hope that Buress makes room in his schedule to cameo at least.

As for the sequel's story, Brad and Dusty have already developed an awesome father and stepfather relationship. However, the tides will quickly turn when both of their fathers come into town for the holidays — and things get tense. Mel Gibson and John Lithgow will be playing the two grandfathers in the film. Gibson and Lithgow look like they will have a pretty promising dynamic, much like Ferrell and Wahlberg did in the first film.

The situation is bound to bounce off the walls and I cannot help but look forward to all of the comedy and tension unfold on the big screen.

Some of my favorite moments from the trailer include Will Ferrell and John Lithgow's surprising yet hilarious kiss in the airport. Also, it looks like Mel Gibson will be a highlight, playing off the rest of the cast. Overall, I am very excited to see what Paramount Pictures brings to the table for Daddy's Home 2, but let's hope it doesn't follow the more-of-the-same path that most comedy sequels do.

Daddy's Home 2 releases in theaters on November 10th, 2017.
