Suicide Squad was not the hit that everyone expected, with a mixed reception from fans and critics. One character that was universally praised, however, was the clown princess of crime, Harley Quinn, played by #MargotRobbie.
A #SuicideSquad spin-off starring Harley was announced to be in development a few months ago and now, we finally have some details confirmed. The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Suicide Squad director David Ayer and Margot Robbie are reteaming for... are you ready? DC's Gotham City Sirens.
The film will continue the villainous trend of its predecessor, focusing on #DC's top female baddies. Ayer will act as both director and producer with Margot Robbie being an executive producer and returning to the iconic role. The movie will be written by Tom Raider and Sherlock Holmes 3's Geneva Robertson-Dworet. DC mastermind Geoff Johns and Jon Berg will also be involved as producers.
While there's not much more information about the newest DC live-action adventure, the recent #comicbook run of Gotham City Sirens featured an all-star lineup that included Harley Quinn, Catwoman and Poison Ivy; could we see the latter two make their triumphant return to the big screen?
What do you think? #GothamCitySirens is finally official. Hopefully, more information will be revealed soon.
