Deadpool was one of the biggest hits of 2016, proving to Hollywood that comic book movies can be R-rated and excel financially. However, the movie wasn't perfect, as the villainous Ajax had little to no development. Fans are hoping to see a better, more fleshed-out baddie in the sequel. Fortunately, we don't have to wait too long to find out who that villain will be, as reports are coming out that might reveal the main antagonist.

According to Deadline, 20th Century Fox has cast Jack Kesy to play a major villain role in the Deadpool sequel. Kesy is known for The Strain, Shut In and he also has a role in Baywatch, coming to theaters this weekend.

Deadline's sources have pinpointed the role as Black Tom Cassidy. He's a classic X-Men villain, but to non-comic book readers, this Marvel character is probably not one they are too familiar with.

In the comics, Black Tom is primarily an X-Men villain, but he has also had plenty of battles with Deadpool. He is the archenemy and cousin of the X-Men character Banshee and often worked alongside the Juggernaut in committing supervillain crimes together.

Black Tom has a pretty unique set of powers, as he is a mutant who is able to manipulate and bond with plant life. Through the plants, he can harness a massive amount of power.

In the Deadpool comics, Black Tom Cassidy was hired by Black Box to hunt down the Merc with the Mouth. This is most likely what we should expect to see in the movie, if it's indeed who Jack Kesy is playing.

Deadpool 2 releases in theaters on June 1st, 2018. Kesy joins Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, Josh Brolin as Cable and Zazie Beetz as Domino.
