Looks like Demi Lovato might be cool for the summer, fall, winter and spring thanks to some sneaky fan shots taken on an outing to Disneyland over the weekend — and LGBT fans are freaking out over the possibility that our Demi (an important gay icon in her own right) might be actually dating a woman.
The "Sorry Not Sorry" singer was snapped casually holding hands with DJ/Producer Lauren Abedini, a.k.a. DJ Kittens, seemingly not giving a damn who was there to see it. The pair strolled through the amusement park in casual wear and matching up-dos, because nothing says heterosexuality like a flannel shirt. Fans were understandably thrilled with the news.
You might not have heard of Aberdini, but it's likely that from now on you will. The DJ has earned support from music industry titans like Usher and Skrillex — and now I guess she can add #DemiLovato to her list of cheerleaders. She also runs a non-profit DK workshop designed for women with all proceeds donated to local women's shelters. So basically, she's a badass. Also, she's openly gay. So make of that what you will.
Of course, the internet had a lot to say about the yet-to-be (possibly never-will-be) confirmed romance, and took to #Twitter to put their feels on blast about how happy, queer and confident the ladies looked together.
Back in 2015, rumors began to circulate that Lovato might swing both ways after her massive summer hit "Cool for the Summer" alluded to a same-sex flirtation. She has also been linked to #RubyRose, but nothing was ever confirmed. In an interview on the UK's Chatty Man talk show, host Alan Carr quizzed her about the lyrics, to which Demi replied:
I am not confirming and I'm definitely not denying. All of my songs are based off of personal experiences. I don't think there's anything wrong with experimentation at all.
When Carr, who is openly gay, responded with "I experimented once and it stuck," Lovato laughed and replied:
“Hey, I didn't say that it didn't stick either. I didn't say that it didn't stick.”
While of course, holding hands with a lady friend (dare I say, gal pal) doesn't mean they're not just friends being friends, doing as friends do, but as neither party has commented on the snaps then we're totally allowed to get our hopes up for a possible romance!
Do you think Demi and Lauren are A Thing, or just gals being pals? Let us know in the comments!
