Believe it or not, there was a time when filmic vampires were not solely played by pale, skinny adolescent guys in leather jackets and wrist bands.
Take for example Lestat in 1994's Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles. Although eventually grabbed the role opposite , a whole host of movie badasses went up for the part. Indeed, , , and himself auditioned for the role, while and both turned the part down. Perhaps most surprisingly of all however, was that was once considered for Lestat. For a short time, at the beginning of the production, Al Pacino was rumored to have wanted the role of LeStat. I provided this image to help the studio make a decision. His presence as an actor , though an unusual choice, might have infused the character with more gravitas. Few command the screen like the indomitable Pacino.
