Much like the characters that inhabit 's hard-boiled, monochrome world, has been having a bit of a tough time getting what he wants. His follow up to 2005's Sin City, Frank Miller's Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, has been a long time coming. After years of delays and uncertainly, the project finally began filming last October. It was due to be released on October 4, 2013 but now it's been pushed back almost a year to August 22, 2014.
There's no official confirmation for why Dimension Films have volunteered to delay the Sin City prequel by such a long stretch of time. However, it is worth noting that no other film currently shares this release date. Perhaps Dimension are hoping to secure a better opening weekend by moving Sin City: A Dame to Kill For away from competition?
To be honest, I'm sure Sin City: A Dame to Kill For could hold it's own against the big boys. With a critically acclaimed predecessor and an ensemble cast boasting the likes of , , , , , AND you think it could handle a little theatrical contest.
Of course, all of this is just speculation, there might be completely different reason for the delay. One thing is certain though, if you were looking forward to Sin City 2 this year, you must be bitterly disappointed.
