If you were a child of the 80s, the two coolest things were a.) dinosaurs and b.) robots that turned into cars. And then the Transformer franchise mashed the two together and created Dinobots, which blew your little kid's mind.
Get ready to relive your childhood years, because Transformers: Age of Extinction producer finally addressed the rumors started by some eagle-eyed visitors to the set. In an interview with Beijing News, he confirmed that yes, we will be seeing robot dinosaurs in the next installment of the Transformers franchise:
I can not disclose the specifics, but you can be sure that the arrival of the Dinobots will give the audience a lot to be excited about. The world's coolest, most exciting cars will appear in the film, including Chinese vehicles, so whether you are a car enthusiast or not, it will be a feast for the eyes.
If you noticed the rather strange language of that quote, that's because it was translated from the original Chinese. You can read the rest of the interview on Tformers.com, but fair warning, Chinese-to-English translations are never perfect, so some of it might be lost in translation. No idea yet how the Dinobots will possibly fit into the plot, but in any case, it will probably be fun to watch them assemble.
In other news, we finally know who the characters are. A-list addition will be playing a struggling inventor and dad of Tessa (played by actress ), who happens to be dating race car driver Shane (newcomer Irish actor ). has been cast in the villain's role of Harold Attinger.
So, what do you think? Maybe it's the whole cast change, or maybe it's because it's been over two years since the last Transformers film, but I'm not really sensing much excitement or buzz about this film. Maybe that will change with a trailer or maybe I'm wrong, period. What do you guys think? Are you excited for Transformers 4? Indifferent? Let me hear it.
