Deadline reported yesterday that director bailed on her film Jane Got a Gun the first day of production. The movie stars as a woman whose gangster husband comes back home covered in bullet wounds. She then turns to an ex-lover to help protect their farm from inbound gang members.

If you're thinking this story is totally bizarre, you're right. It's pretty much unheard of for a director to bail when cast and crew are ready to go. Producer Scott Steindorf had this to say:

I have millions of dollars invested, we’re ready to shoot, we have a great script, crew and cast. I’m shocked and so disappointed someone would do this to 150 crew members who devoted so much time, energy, commitment and loyalty to a project, and then have the director not show up. It is insane somebody would do this to other people. I feel more for the crew and their families, but we are keeping the show going on, directors are flying in, and a replacement is imminent.”

Ramsay is best known for her film We Need to Talk About Kevin. She'll now be most known as that person not to trust.
