On July 12, 2007, Twilight darling Kristen Stewart was caught cheating on our beloved Robert Pattinson with her married Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders, sparking a media meltdown that continued to haunt her for many years to come.
When the sneaky paparazzi images hit the headlines, we observed the unfolding carnage from a distance, though perhaps remaining less shocked than our very own Donald Trump. Back then, the orange-tinged Celebrity Apprentice TV personality — who would bizarrely go on to become the President of the United States — famously took to Twitter to air his rampant displeasure at K-Stew's outrageous, "dog-like" behavior.
Five years on however, and it seems that the scandal surrounding the actress's affair with the then-married director has died down. Sanders and Stewart have since moved on, both in their creative and personal lives, and put the entire fiasco behind them.

However, just when the billowing dust has settled, it appears that the #GhostInTheShell director has randomly decided to dig up some of the past. In a recent interview with the UK's Metro, he referenced his relationship with Kristen:
"You never know what's coming in life. Around every corner there's something unexpected, and that's life. You just have to brush yourself off and continue moving forward the best you can. Everyone makes mistakes. I am bound to make more mistakes, and I wouldn't expect my life to be exciting if I didn't."
He then reiterated that the publicity did not actually negatively impact his career, saying:
"If you took people off the table for a momentary lapse, there would be no one making art."
He's not wrong. So how about we all just all move on and be done with it? I mean, even Rob Pattinson doesn't care anymore. He said in 2014:
"S--t happens, you know? It's just young people… It's normal! And honestly, who gives a s--t?"
Ghost In The Shell is currently hacking into the United States cinema grid — here's the trailer:
