Now, once the news first broke that DC and Warner Bros.' planned #HarleyQuinn spin-off movie would, in fact, be named #GothamCitySirens, and thus likely feature the likes of #PoisionIvy and #Catwoman, casting-related speculation was always liable to bubble up and begin obsessing us all. After all, the prospect of some of the #DC universe's most iconic and beloved female characters returning to the screen is an exciting one — not least because there are already some intriguing possibilities.
In light of that, then...
Do We Already Know Who'll Play Catwoman In 'Gotham City Sirens'?
Well, that most likely depends on who you ask. If you were to press anyone over at #WarnerBros, they would surely tell you that no, we do not. If you were to ask many of the internet's more inquiring minds, though, they might well tell you something very different. Y'see, in much the manner that intrepid Twitter-divers spotted that the likes of John Cleese, Armie Hammer and Joe Manganiello wound up liking key #DCEU figures recently, and suggested that they would soon be joining the extended universe as a result, it seems that a possible Catwoman may have also emerged.
Step forward, #EizaGonzalez.
Gonzalez, y'see, apparently follows both #DavidAyer — who is set to direct Gotham City Sirens — and #MargotRobbie, who is executive producing and starring in the film. For good measure, she even follows #GeoffJohns, the DCEU's new creative head honcho. Which, to some fans, is proof enough that the Mexican actress — and star of From Dusk Till Dawn — is not only heading to Gotham City Sirens, but will be playing Catwoman when she does so. Now, sure, the main logic there is that Gonzalez looks a bit like she'd be well cast as Selina Kyle, but it's a compelling line of thinking all the same:
Of course, it's not quite as compelling as an actual confirmation from Warner Bros. would be, but while we wait for that, it's probably the best — albeit entirely ephemeral — lead we have to go on.
