Game of Thrones has been generously dropping game-changing bombshells throughout this season so far, and fortunately for us, they're not done yet. We may be about to uncover one of the show's greatest secrets: the history of Rhaegar Targaryen. In case you need a refresher in your GoT lore, Rhaegar was the son of the Mad King, and older brother to both Viserys and the Mother of Dragons herself, Daenerys Targaryen.

Even though he was married to Elia Martell and they had children together, Rhaegar fell in love and subsequently ran away with Lyanna Stark. Out of their, well, peculiar relationship came everyone's favorite non-bastard, .

Rhaegar was killed prior to the events of the show, so we've never seen his face. However, seeing how important he's been to the mythology of Westeros, fans have been clamoring to meet him for quite a long time. A few months ago, we thought rocker Devin Oliver would be bringing the character to life after some sneaky hints, but that wasn't the case. Fortunately, there's a light at the end of the tunnel, because it looks like we're finally meeting Jon Snow's dad, and even better, we might already know who's playing him.

Did We Just Find Out Who Rhaegar Is?

HBO suffered a stream of leaks throughout this past month. A Reddit user by the name of Self.freefolk states that one of the leaked reports reveals that Rhaegar will be played by actor Wilf Scolding at some point in Season 7:

"It's in the HBO leaked file, we cant show full image because there's personal information. But he's on the list under 'Rhaegar' - Wilf Scolding / video

EDIT: Redacted leaked file of 015. S7 Confidential Cast List V11, pg. 13."

Scolding is a relative newcomer to the entertainment industry, but if you're curious to see him in action, he's worked on projects like 2014's The Passing Bell and 2017's Bees Make Honey. Some fans will understandably be doubtful about this report, but there's precedent for speculating over Scolding's involvement in the politically charged world of . Two months ago, Reddit user Twerk4Christ did some pretty impressive internet research.

He discovered that Aisiling Franciosi –– the actress who plays Lyanna Stark –– started following Scolding on Twitter. The young actor followed her back and also followed Liam Cunningham (a.k.a. Davos Seaworth) as well as the official Game of Thrones Twitter page.

Of course, as with any rumor, we should take this with a grain of salt, but we can't deny there's a strong case for the casting. Plus, judging by the few Rhaegar descriptions that refer to the character's out-of-this-world good looks, Scolding is a great fit.

While his appearance in Season 7 is still technically unconfirmed, I'm confident we'll see Rhaegar pop up. Last week's episode, "Eastwatch," revealed he married Lyanna Stark after they ran away together. Fans have theorized for a while that we'll get to see their wedding, and considering just how important that event is for Jon Snow's future with the Iron Throne, an appearance from the Prince of Dragonstone is necessary.

There are only two episodes left in Season 7, so hopefully it won't be long until we meet him.

Do you think we'll finally get to meet Rhaegar in Season 7? Do you think Wilf Scolding will bring the man to life? Let me know in the comments!
