There's nothing we love more than a cheeky cameo from one Avenger in another hero's solo movie. The end-credits revelation that all of Iron Man 3 was just Tony venting to his science bro Bruce was hilarious, but it was somewhat rivaled by Thor's unexpected appearance at the end of , in a scene that set up .

The Doctor Strange mid-credits scene was excellent, and surprisingly funny — as two of the most ponderous and eloquent characters in the , we never would have guessed that Thor and Stephen Strange would actually have entertaining banter.

In a new featurette released by , it turns out that much of this hilarity comes from the actors themselves — and they also improvised parts of the scene.

Exec producer Stephen Broussard explained that both actors are just naturally funny people, which is one of the reasons why this scene was so successful.

"I think people are starting to learn this about Chris [Hemsworth], and they'll soon know about Benedict Cumberbatch — they are both hilarious. They both have the best comedic timing... I think they really enjoy the opportunity to improv a bit and play with what is a lighter tone."

The easy chemistry between the actors bodes very well for the upcoming — Doctor Strange is set to have a small supporting role in 's third solo movie, helping the Asgardian warrior track down his errant brother on the streets of NYC. With seasoned comic director Taika Waititi at the helm, Thor: Ragarok is already set to be an entertaining romp throughout the galaxy... but one that might end in doom.

In the meantime, this new featurette teases footage that was cut from the Doctor Strange mid-credits scene.

In the movie, Thor and Dr Strange just have a chat while seated in the study, but this brief clip shows the two standing, with the magician apparently performing some magic. Hopefully we'll get to see this deleted footage on the Doctor Strange Blu-Ray, which will be released on February 28th.

Tell us in the comments: Would you watch a Doctor Strange / Thor buddy movie?
