The cast and crew of Anchorman: The Legend Continues have been keeping details regarding the plot of the sequel tightly under wraps. We only know that the legendary Ron Burgundy () will be doing his thing in a bigger media arena than he was in San Diego.
But might there be a little legend in the story? A son, perhaps? A new set photo and something writer/director said about a year ago seem to tease the idea. If you can't be fussed to click the link (I know, I know, making that extra jump is hard), basically what McKay said was this:
I don't want to give away too much, but I'll just give a couple pieces of ideas that we've kicked around. Keep in mind we're still writing the story, but I'll say one phrase for you: custody battle.
As that was the only brief mention and nothing further developed, most of us thought at the time that the custody battle would be an absurd throwdown over Ron's beloved dog Baxter. But then this new set photo popped up, leading us to believe maybe it's an actual custody battle after all:
Might that dapper and rather forlorn-looking little man be a baby Burgundy and budding legend in his own right? Starring Ferrell and featuring a star-studded ensemble cast in , , , , , , , , and , Anchorman: The Legend Continues will answer that question when it hits theaters on December 20th.
