It's been over 20 years since the release of #Scream, and to this day one of the most recognized, iconic and shocking parts of the entire movie franchise is the infamous opening scene with #DrewBarrymore.
You know the scene I'm talking about: Drew is making popcorn and getting ready to watch a scary movie with her boyfriend when she suddenly receives a phone call from an unknown source who starts quizzing her horror movie knowledge until her bloody demise — yeah, that's the one; it still gives me chills to this day.
Drew and Timothy Olyphant (also from Scream fame — he played Micky in Scream 2) both star in the upcoming Netflix horror-comedy series, Santa Clarita Diet, in which the two play a married couple, Sheila and Joel, who find a creative way to combat Sheila's new turn as a zombie.
While promoting their new show, the two made a promotional stop on the French talk show C á Vous and recreated one of the most infamous scenes in horror cinema history.
Even though the bit was a funny gag and the two stars laughed their way through most of the scene, it's still awesome to see Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant pay homage to their Scream pasts.
Interestingly enough, Drew was actually supposed to play the lead role of Sidney Prescott in Scream, but after reading the script she fell in love with the opening scene. She begged the producers to let her play Casey in the opening scene instead — with the promise that her death would be a huge shock to the audience — and boy, was she right.
