These days it seems there is rarely a move made by Marvel studios that fails to pique my interest. Recently, it was announced that they were teaming with Netflix to bring the small screen the likes of Daredevil, Powerman, Iron Fist, and Jessica Jones. Of course, with Phase 2 in full swing, we thought it would be awhile before serious movement was made on these shows. Fools we were...FOOLS!

The Wrap is reporting that (The Cabin in the Woods) is in negotiations to write the Daredevil series. The show is set to kick off next year. Goddard is a self-admitted superfan of the character...

"You’re talking to a guy who had quotes from Daredevil painted on his wall while growing up. Even when I was 18, I still had the blood red door with the, ‘I have shown him that a man without hope is a man without fear.’ That was what I loved and so it’s the sort of thing that if we can find the right project, I would love to do it.”

Connecting filmmakers who are also comic book geeks with precisely the right property has been a trademark of Marvel Studios. While I'm still holding out for a Daredevil movie (for exactly that reason), I think Goddard is a great choice to be the showrunner on the series. He's clearly a Matt Murdock nerd (a Matt Nerdock?) and it makes sense that he would be on Marvel's radar after collaborating with with the studio's guru on Cabin.

Long story short, I think this is great news.

What do you guys think?
