Some of us may have thought the natural disaster movie had been left behind in the 1990s, but it looks like wants to revive it with his upcoming San Andreas.
Written by Andre Fabrizio and Jeremy Passmore (with Chad and Carey Hayes providing a rewrite), San Andreas will see Johnson playing a helicopter pilot in the aftermath of a major Californian earthquake. Instead of using his skills to, y'know, save people, he instead goes on an adventure to find his estranged daughter.
According to ComingSoon.net, Warner Bros has just confirmed an official release date for the movie, placing it smack bang into the center of 2015's already congested summer blockbuster period. Although, it's June 5th release date is relatively clear of competition, San Andreas will have to go up against Jurassic World in its second week in theaters.
