I always get a kick out of checking out movie concept art, but when it happens to be concept art for sci-fi films, it takes on an entirely separate level of enjoyment. So much of what makes a science-fiction film work is the conceptualization and execution of its own vision of the future. One film that certainly had a distinct, if overwhelmingly desolate, future was 's Elysium.
Now, conceptual illustrator Christian Pearce has posted on his website several images from the pre-production phase of the movie. They are designs for futuristic weapons as well as tattoos some of the characters might have sported. The weapons are really cool to look at, but I'm really fascinated by the tattoo designs.
Take a look at some of the images posted here below, and be sure to go to Pearce's website for the rest.
