Famously known the world over as Daenerys Targaryen, the Mother of Dragons, and Jon Snow, King in The North, Emilia Clarke and Kit Harington's last scene in the finale of Games of Thrones Season 7 left ardent fans tingling with mixed emotions ranging from highly delirious to downright perplexed. As the new faces of Dolce & Gabbana's latest ad campaign however, the two British actors dutifully left their deeply complex personas from the top-rated HBO saga behind.
In separate commercials for D&G's "The One" fragrances – directed by Italian filmmaker Matteo Garrone (Tale of Tales) – the Game of Thrones duo dance up a storm in Naples.
Emilia Clarke: She's "The One"
"Emilia Clarke, lives life to the fullest," trumpeted Dolce & Gabbana's Twitter account when they announced her as their new brand ambassador for "The One" Eau de Toilette. And really, they couldn't choose a more bubbly personality to represent their latest perfume. In her commercial, the natural brunette can be seen dancing through the streets, gallivanting with locals and eating pasta with gusto.
Soon after the announcement, Dolce & Gabbana revealed why Kit Harington boasts all the qualities of what they call the "Dolce & Gabbana man."
Kit Harington: He's Also "The One"
As the brand representative for "The One" For Men, Harington too seem to be having a fun time body-swaying with jubilant folks in Naples, from feisty Italian grandmas to cute little kids. In fact, we've never seen the actor smiling this much on Games of Thrones, let alone having a spring in his steps!
Needless to say, fans of the two Game of Thrones stars are in rapture over the two vibrant commercials that were released by Dolce & Gabbana across all their social media platforms over the weekend.
Some are even hoping that there will be a "sequel" in which the two stars meet!
Even though #EmiliaClarke and #KitHarington are luminous in their separate commercials for D&G, it will undoubtedly make an even bigger impact if the two stars collide in a commercial that features both fan favorites dancing together. Strike while the iron is hot, we say, and we're very sure that Dolce & Gabbana had that very same thought. So, watch this space!
In the meantime, you can enjoy these two backstage videos, which took place earlier this year in Naples, Italy. Harington's video is especially interesting as real fans can be seen cheering for him before and after the shoot!
