Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield met during production of The Amazing Spider-Man in 2011, and to the delight of viewers, their onscreen chemistry translated to real-life. The two started dating, and before we knew it, they became one of Hollywood's most talked-about and beloved couples. Their relationship wasn't meant to be, though, and they split up four years later. Their separation broke the hearts of many fans, but fortunately for all of the love hopefuls out there, it looks like we have a new couple to root for.
Love Is In The Air For Emma Stone
According to Page Six, #EmmaStone has started dating #DaveMcCary, a writer and segment director for Saturday Night Live. In case you want to know more about McCary, he started working on SNL in 2014 after catching the eye of Steven Spielberg and Louis C.K. for his sketch comedy group, Good Neighbors. As for his contributions to the show, he's directed shorts like 'Ice Cream,' 'Mr. Senior' and 'Super Champions.'
There isn't a clear timeline on when the stars met, but Stone has collaborated with SNL quite a few times in the past. She appeared in a skit in 2014 during promotion for The Amazing Spider-Man 2, hosted the show back in December of 2016 (for which Jolt directed a segment), and most recently guest-starred alongside her La La Land and Crazy, Stupid, Love co-star, Ryan Gosling.
Understandably, Stone and McCary have decided to keep their relationship as private as possible, but onlookers have caught glimpses of them as a couple. The two were spotted together on the premiere for the McCary-directed independent film, Brigsby Bear.
Stone Isn't The First Major Star To Date An 'SNL' Team Member
Emma Stone isn't the only actor who has found love with SNL employees. Things started out with #ScarlettJohansson back in May. After appearing in #SNL's cold open as Ivanka Trump, the Avengers star attended the show's afterparty, where she was seen kissing Colin Jost. Since then, the two have been enjoying a close relationship. While speaking to Entertainment Tonight in September, for example, Jost had nothing but great things to say about his match:
"She's pretty cool... It's hard to have a lot of complaints, she's pretty awesome... The first time she hosted was the first year I was a writer on the show. So, we've kind of known each other since then. She's the best."
Then there's #BenAffleck. This past July, a few months after his split from Jennifer Garner, the Batman actor started dating SNL producer Lindsay Shookus. The pair have been fairly public with their relationship, and people just can't seem get enough of seeing them together.
Now, Emma Stone has been added to that list. So yeah, there's a bit of a rising trend here. Will we see more love come out of SNL? We'll have to wait and see. Hopefully all of these couples have nothing but happiness in their futures together.
