Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 saw the return of our favorite characters from the first film, and told a wonderful story that pulled at the audience’s heartstrings. Out of all the characters, Michael Rooker’s Yondu Udonta emerged as a fan favorite, in large part to his widely popular line: “I’m Mary Poppins ya’ll.”

James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 was filled with great jokes and one-liners, but Yondu’s bit went on to become part of the pop-culture lexicon. The single line of dialogue has sparked memes, pictures, merchandise, and even a petition to have Michael Rooker cameo in the new Disney film, Mary Poppins Returns.

So, as soon as Emily Blunt’s new iteration of Mary Poppins graced the cover of Entertainment Weekly to promote the upcoming film, a fan artist took the opportunity to create a wonderful Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2/Mary Poppins Returns mashup.

I'm Mary Poppins Ya'll Returns

The incredible Bosslogic worked his magic, and crafted one of the best “I’m Mary Poppins Ya’ll” mashups yet. The Entertainment Weekly cover was a great still of Emily Blunt as Mary Poppins; however, Bosslogic managed to crank up the awesome, and gave fans a look at the people’s Mary Poppins, Yondu.

Sure, it looks like Bosslogic just superimposed Yondu’s head onto Mary Poppins’s body, but he also added Yondu’s patented arrow – which he is holding in his right hand – and he edited Yondu’s fin protruding through the top of Marry Poppins’s hat. It's the little details that make it perfect.

Michael Rooker’s improvised line from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has proved to be a great marketing tool for Disney’s upcoming film, Mary Poppins Returns, and the simple line will be brought up every time the film releases new promotional art. We don’t know when the trailer for will drop, but we can sleep easy knowing that someone will splice Yondu into the whimsical film, and give fans the Mary Poppins movie that we want in our heart-of-hearts.

Mary Poppins Returns hits theaters on December 25, 2018.

Sound off! Would you like to see Yondu star in his own Mary Poppins film? Let your voice be heard in the comments section below.
