While everyone seemed to applaud 's effort to give Bruce Banner dramatic depth in his 2003 adaptation of the Hulk, the majority of moviegoers wanted more smashing and green destruction. It turns out that the original movie Hulk, , is actually happy with the film (and the fact that he wasn't tied down to multiple sequels). While talking about his latest movie, Closed Circuit, with the Huffington Post, Bana had this to say:

I'm proud of what it tried to do. I apologize to all those people who were so angry about it...I'm fascinated by the people who hated that movie and feel compelled to watch it again, which always blows my mind. But, yeah, it is what it is and I certainly don't regret doing it.

I think I'm so lucky it didn't happen....One of the things I was most fearful of at the time is it being a huge success...If I had done three Hulks, it would have wiped out -- and it always takes a long time to do those movies -- so it would take six of my movies off the table.

Do you guys think time has been kind to Hulk? It certainly seems to have more fans than it did when it was first released. On a completely random note, it definitely had more exciting San Francisco mayhem than when Magneto ripped apart the Golden Gate Bridge in X3.
