2013 is looking like it's going to be 's year, with the director being one of the hottest things in Hollywood thanks to his brilliant remake of Evil Dead. Success usually begets more success in Tinsel Town, with current "it" boys and girls being sought out for more work, whether in front of or behind the camera.
The latest rumor from the always inexplicably clued-in crew from Latino Review is that he's been tapped to helm the film adaptation of Marvel's Doctor Strange, a project that fans everywhere have long been clamoring to see on the big screen. The site also claims that Alvarez's writer will be involved, which is doubly good news.
There's no concrete confirmation yet, and Alvarez wouldn't say yes or no until he's allowed to, regardless. Still, Marvel is probably courting a lot of directors right now (or more likely the other way around), with Alvarez and Sayagues giving Marvel their take on the comic book characters. If Marvel digs their pitch, there's an excellent chance we'll get confirmation of the floating rumors soon.
