I'm that one guy you get annoyed with because he talks about movies too much, but I'm also the one guy you love to talk movies with.

There have always been skeptics when it comes to the topic of the Star Wars standalone prequel. For some fans, it's hard to accept someone who is not the original actor playing such an iconic character, knowing that there is a possibility that they may change what we know and love about them. Asking new actors — both Alden Ehrenreich and Donald Glover — to immerse themselves in roles that identify so much with their original actors is no simple feat. According to Billy Dee Williams, it's going to be very hard to live up to the we fell in love with in the first place.

Thanks to Altered Reality Entertainment, I was recently able to converse with the legendary Billy Dee Williams this week about Donald Glover being cast as a character that Williams pretty much embodies in spirit. I also asked if he had any advice to give Glover. Here's an excerpt of the interview, which will be up in its entirety over the next few days:

MOVIE PILOT: Did you hear about the casting of the new, younger Lando?

WILLIAMS: Yes, I've been hearing about it. Yeah. You know what? That's going to be a tough one.

What do you think about Donald Glover stepping into your shoes?

WILLIAMS: I don't really know him, or who he is. I've only been hearing about him. But it's... I mean that character, I created that character so I don't know how...what they're going to bring to it.

How does it now feel knowing that another actor is portraying what was originally your role since you have such a connection to Lando as a character?

WILLIAMS: It's a really strange feeling.

Do you have any advice for Donald Glover as he is going forward into this large Star Wars universe?

WILLIAMS: No. I mean...Listen: I brought so much to that character. And I don't know. I can't even...It's very hard for me to even think of anybody else being Lando except me. But anyway, life goes on.

Even though he may not sound enthusiastic about Lando being in the film, it is hard to not feel bad for Billy Dee Williams, who put so much life into the character when he was first put onto screen. He brought the suave, charm, and charisma that made the character unique. It is no doubt that Donald Glover, who has gotten critical acclaim as of late for his FX show , will bring something new to Lando. What that is going to be is yet to be seen, but hopefully Childish Gambino does bring Williams's character's legacy the performance he deserves. One thing is for sure: Nothing can ever beat the original.

Directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the untitled Han Solo prequel film follows the titular character in his adventures before . The film stars Alden Ehrenreich and Donald Glover and is due May 25, 2018.

Hopefully, fans will finally get to see how what Han pulled to get the Falcon from Calrissian in the first place.

What do you think about Donald Glover being cast as the new Lando?
