In the most "holy crap balls that would be awesome" news of the day, The Hobbit director has revealed that not only is he a diehard fan of Doctor Who, but that he would also love to direct an episode of the hit show.

In an interview with EW! Jackson even named his price for the gig: A Dalek.

They don’t even have to pay me But I have got my eye on one of those nice new gold-colored Daleks. They must have a spare one (hint, hint).

Whoever is responsible for making these things happen, stop what you are doing at once and do whatever you can to get him on board. Speaking as a Who fanboy, Jackson directing an episode would be the greatest thing in the history of the world ever, although said episode would probably overrun and then have to be split into three parts so the Doctor could walk somewhere for longer. Still be awesome though.
