While Pokémon Go's popularity may have dwindled, the #anime adaptation is still going strong. With the recently Pokémon Generations and Sun Moon, it's clear that the pocket monsters are an instant hit with today's youth (and '90s babies). However, a real sign of total domination is when they've inspired illustration artist, such as itsbirdy.
Itsbirdy is the social media name of artist and creative director of the YouTube channel KingsMustRise. Like many of us, he's a #Pokémon fan, which is evident from his Instagram page, which is completely covered with Pokémon fan art. Nevertheless, one of the pieces that stand out is his illustration of first-stage Pokémon with costumes of their final evolution.
Pikachu In Raichu Costume
Starting off is one of our favorite Pokémon, Pikachu. While this Pikachu is a bit cooler than Ash's, it still has the adorableness of the electric mouse.
Cubone In Alolan Marowak Costume
Many theories are swirling on the internet about the origin of Cubone. Although some are heartbreaking, it doesn't seem to stop this Cubone of becoming an ass-kicking Marowak.
Lickitung In Lickilicky Costume
If you stopped following Pokémon sometime back, then it's time to pick up the series. No-evolution Pokémon can evolve into a new form, which happens to be the case with Lickitung, who dons a Lickilicky costume.
Charmander In Charizard Costume
This cute Charmander has great shoes to fill as the awesome Charizard. Though, wearing such an adorable onesie, who would be afraid of it?
Bulbasaur In Venusaur Costume
In the beginning, Bulbasaur was very wary of Ash. However, it soon warmed up to him and became a member of the crew. While Bulbasaur is a master at conflict resolution, it's his Venusaur onesie that will shut down all arguments. Look at it — don't you want to hug it?
Squirtle In Blastoise Costume
Even though the Squirtle Squad is already cool as heck, a Blastoise costume will surely make them the talk of the Kanto region.
Eevee In Umbreon And Espeon Costumes
One of the goals of a Pokémon Master is to have all the evolutions of Eevee. But, seeing that Niantic is still behind in adding the latest generation, trainers will just have to settle for this fan art piece.
Meowth In Persian Costume
It's no secret that Meowth has something against Giovanni's Persian. So, why is he wearing that onesie — perhaps to be Giovanni's good graces?
Itsbirdy hasn’t only drawn first-generation Pokémon, but also a few more of the latest generation, such as Tepig.
