Very little is known about the upcoming Ben Affleck Batman solo film. With behind-the-scenes shake ups such as reported script problems and Ben Affleck stepping down as director, fans have been given more than a few reasons to worry about the cinematic exploits of the Caped Crusader.
But there is a Bat-Signal shining brightly in the dark sky, Bat-fans! Matt Reeves of the upcoming War For The Planet Of The Apes is helming the picture with a script by Affleck and Geoff Johns. While no official plot synopsis has been revealed, one fan took it upon himself to come up with a #Batman movie poster that amps fan expectation up to 11.
A fan by the Twitter handle of MessyPandas has given us his version of what the film poster may look like. It features Jared Leto's #Joker noticeably tattoo free, holding an upside down batarang, which strategically covers his face, reminiscent of the clown prince of crime's grin. The batarang has blood on it, mimicking Joker's trademark lipstick, and a general release date of 2019. It evokes a Joker more inline with the Heath Ledger version, which was a fan favorite.
The poster is not without its faults, however. The lettering doesn't quite stand out enough and dangling from the blood drips off of the batarang isn't the best choice for placement. As well, the Joker's small hands could use a bit of sizing as well.
The image has made the rounds in the news and has been well received, which can only be good for the #DCEU. With Wonder Woman tracking well box-office and getting near universal critical acclaim, Warner Bros. may be on the upswing.
What do you think of this fan-made movie poster?
